Fan Zhu fanzhu

Dr. Zhu was graduated from Informatics School at the University of Edinburgh in 2012 and thereafter recruited to Department of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics at University of Michigan. In the past few years, he was participating in an interdisciplinary research between computer science, medical and genomics. He has developed machine learning based regression and classification algorithms to help processing clinical data. He also developed multiple instance learning based method to predict gene co-functional relationships. He has designed and implemented regression based algorithm to generate gene regulatory network in breast cancer cell lines. His method is the winning method to predict time-course perturbations for breast cancer proteomic data and in silico data in Dialogue for Reverse Engineering Assessments and Methods (DREAM) 8 challenge. He is proficient in multiple programming languages, has the basic understanding of biology and has the experience with interdisciplinary research.
