My academic background consists of two bachelors degrees, a bachelors of science in Biology and a bachelors of arts in Biochemistry, and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Mississippi. As a post doctoral trainee in the Department of Biostatistics, Section on Statistical Genetics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) my unique background offered new perspectives. I continue to produce innovative research here at the University of Florida that combines my statistical skill set with my academic background.
The long term goals of my research are to:
1) contribute to our understanding of the underlying relationship between genotypic and phenotypic variability .
2) improve our ability to predict complex traits from genome-based association studies.
