Tom is an Associate Director of Data Processing & Engineering (DPE) at Sage Bionetworks. The DPE mission is to guide Sage Bionetworks and our communities toward effective and modern data operations. Their goals are to make data more accessible to data contributors and data consumers, centralize data processing at Sage Bionetworks, and provide an extensible framework for data operation pipelines that bridge the gap between bioinformatics and industry standard tools. As a hobby, he contributes to the Synapse Python Client and develops other tools that utilize Synapse for our communities. Tom hopes to bridge the gap between science and engineering one pull request at a time.
