Han Yu yuhanpanda

Dr Yu, Han is a Lee Kuan Yew Post-Doctoral Fellow (LKY PDF) at the Joint NTU-UBC Research Centre of Excellence in Active Living for the Elderly (LILY), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He is currently also a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted by Professor Qiang Yang. Before joining NTU, he worked as an Embedded Software Engineer at Hewlett-Packard Singapore Pte Ltd. He obtained his PhD from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, NTU in 2014. During his PhD study, he held the prestigious Singapore Millennium Foundation (SMF) PhD Scholarship. His research focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) powered crowd-computing. Specifically, his works seek to address how to achieve super-linear collective productivity for crowdsourcing systems while helping workers achieve 'productive laziness', thereby enabling crowdsourcing platforms to derive values from the user behaviour data through smart decision support. He has published over 85 research papers in leading international conferences and journals including AAAI, IJCAI, ASE, AAMAS, Decision Support Systems, Proceedings of the IEEE, as well as the Nature Research journals ? npj Science of Learning, Scientific Data and Scientific Reports. His research work has won 9 conference and journal awards. In both 2014 and 2015, he was selected to be one of the Top 10 Global Young Scientists under 35 during the Global Young Scientists Summit (GYSS), and had the honour of showcasing his research to President Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore.
