I?m Bioinformatics System Programmer for Dana Farber through Partners HealthCare. I am responsible for the maintenance and improvements to the current processes surrounding the OncoPanel data, as well as tackling the integration of other genomic tests from the sequencing lab into Institute databases and applications that enable clinical research and precision medicine.
I joined Dana Farber/Partners after a tenure at Claritas Genomics, a spin-off from Children?s Hospital/Life Technologies that specializes in Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and other genomic tests for children and veterans through the Million Veterans Project. At Claritas, I served as a Clinical Bioinformatician supporting R&D and providing informatics support to the clinical lab as well as additional responsibility as an LIS Analyst in which I performed assay validation and managed lab workflows.
Prior to Claritas, I served as a Bioinformatician at Boston Children?s Hospital where I worked on the hospital?s variant calling pipeline. I have a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Mary Washington.
I?m truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with others in the biotech industry. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I believe I excel at interdepartmental collaboration and comprehending end to end processes. As the collaborative process evolves, I enjoy thinking about how changes at any stage will affect upstream and down stream processes.
I am interested in work that is interesting, engaging and beneficial to the wider public. Opportunities that can teach me new and exciting ideas and that will keep me on my toes.
I?d love to hear from former colleagues, managers, or just interesting creative folk, so feel free to contact me if you?d like to connect.
