I enjoy applying my skills to solving problems, especially in fields relating to human health, and I am motivated by the idea that my contributions might help others.
I have a multifaceted background that bridges across Information Technology and Scientific fields, with over 10 years of professional experience working in a scientific setting, supporting the collection, analysis, management, and reporting of scientific data for both public and private sectors. I have been responsible for the development and management of IT systems, review and summary of scientific data, project management, and business support (contracts, proposals, and hiring).
I have a wide skill set in Bioinformatics with a facility for scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and R as well as experience with object-oriented programming, and understanding of data structures and algorithms. I am also well versed in databases, with skills for schema development, SQL queries, stored procedures (e.g., PL/SQL), and database-backed web development.
