J. Hathaway has a Master's Degree in Statistics from Brigham Young University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Utah.
He works with the Preva data science team to deliver data science products leveraging R (tidyverse), Python (Pyspark), and SQL for data munging. He enjoys visualization using r::ggplot2 and python::plotnine as well as delivering predictive models using the latest ML tools.
He is currently a full professor at Brigham Young University-Idaho in the department of mathematics in Rexburg, ID. Beyond his teaching responsibilities, he is the program chair for BYU-I's data science degree.
Previously, J. was the program manager for the Visual Sample Plan (vsp.pnnl.gov) software at PNNL. He was also the lead data scientist for a lab-wide initiative in climate analytics (https://im3.pnnl.gov/platform-regional-integrated-modeling-and-analysis-prima).
