Jiguo Cao jiguo

Dr. Jiguo Cao is the Canada Research Chair in Data Science and associate professor at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, Simon Fraser University (SFU). He is also the Associate Faculty Member at School of Computing Science, SFU. Dr. Cao was selected as Research Fellow at Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute (SAMSI) in 2010, and the AusCan Scholar by Statistical Society of Canada (SSC) in 2009. He is currently serving at Board of Directors, Canadian Statistical Sciences Institute (CANSSI). He obtained his PhD in statistics at McGill University in 2006 and worked as postdoctoral associate in statistics genetics at Yale University in 2006-2007 before joining SFU with an assistant professor position in 2007. He has published over 40 papers in the top statistical journals such as Journal of the American Statistical Association (JASA) and Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B (JRSSB). His research interests include developing novel statistical methodologies and applications in complex data analysis and estimating parameters in differential equations from real data.
