Claire McCarthy is a Science Writing Fellow in the Division of Cancer Biology (DCB) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), where she writes about basic cancer research. Some of her responsibilities include summarizing research articles, taking notes at scientific meetings, writing blogs and articles about presentations, drafting tweets for @NCIPhySci and @NCIsysbio, and generating a timeline of the division.

She has a B.A. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Toxicology, as well as experience in writing about biomedical science.
