Yishai Shimoni yishais

I am a multidisciplinary researcher, applying methods for parallel analysis of big data in the fields of bioinformatics and computational biology, with a proven track record of leading and participating in large-scale scientific projects, culminating in high impact publications and in patents. I currently hold an R&D position in IBM research labs in Israel, where I apply my expertise in big data analysis to solving important and applicable questions. My academic experience includes a PhD in physics (with a focus on simulations of non-linear systems), and using computer science methodologies and tools to analyze large datasets, leading to testable predictions in the fields of biology and medicine. Through my academic experience, I accumulated extensive experience in developing dynamic models, algorithms, machine learning methods and simulation tools, as well as in analyzing high-throughput sequencing and gene expression data using parallel analysis in computer clusters. I have over 10 years of experience in working in close partnerships with colleagues on the design of both hypothesis-generating and validation experiments, as well as in collaborating with large local and international groups of researchers. I maintain a professional blog about my systems biology related work at: http://yishaiblogs.weebly.com/systems-biology-blog.html Specialties: Machine learning, deep learning, dynamic modeling, cellular regulatory networks, bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, reverse engineering, small non-coding RNA, stochastic simulations, quantum computation, quantum entanglement.
