Zoltan Mari zozika

Dr. Zoltan Mari graduated first in his medical school class in Hungary before completing a post-doctoral fellowship in SUNY Downstate (Brooklyn, NY) on Parkinson disease (PD) animal models and electrophysiology. After internship in Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he finished as the ?Intern of the Year? among a class of 40+ interns, he finished his neurology residency training in SUNY Downstate, where he also served as Chief Resident and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society as the only foreign graduate house staff member ever elected in the history of ETA New York Chapter of AOA. After his clinical fellowships in movement disorders and clinical neurophysiology at NIH, he joined the Johns Hopkins University?s Department of Neurology as junior faculty, where he was later promoted to Associate Professor and served as Director of the PD & Movement Disorder Division and Center, which has grown markedly under his leadership, including many successful hires and establishing a DBS Center and a clinical fellowship program. As a movement disorder fellowship director, he trained many movement disorder neurologists over 10 years who have now launched successful careers on their own at leading academic centers across the US. After spending 11 years as Johns Hopkins faculty, Dr. Mari joined the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas, NV in May 2017, where he is the Ruvo Family Chair and Director of the PD and Movement Disorders Program and serves as Director of the CurePSP Center of Care, Co-PI of the LBDA Research Center of Excellence, as well as Co-Director of the Cleveland Clinic?s Parkinson?s Foundation Center of Excellence. Dr. Mari is a world renowned movement disorder neurologist, clinical scientist, and educator in the area of PD and movement disorders. Besides his primary appointment at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Mari is also a Clinical Professor of Neurology at University of Nevada Las Vegas, Adjunct Associate Professor of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University. Besides his academic appointments Dr. Mari and serves as Associate Editor of the Parkinsonism and Related Disorders journal, Co-Chair of the Motor Working Group of the Parkinson Study Group (PSG), and Chair of the Movement Disorder Society?s Telemedicine Study Group. Dr. Mari has published 80 peer-reviewed papers, authored multiple book chapters, and founded and directed many nationally recognized CME programs. Dr. Mari is a co-founder and CMO of Neuraly, Inc. which is developing a revolutionary disease modifying treatment for PD and coauthor on a patent regarding the use of transcranial direct current stimulation in PD. Dr. Mari is also co-founder and CMO of Z NeuroSciences, LLC.
