Hi Hugo, Thanks for the question. The use of the three files you mentioned above are all **optional**. Specifically, PFalciparum_Gene_GOterms.csv contains the gene names and the Gene Ontology associated with each gene. This file may be useful if you want to do some functional classifications of the genes, or to understand gene functions better. RawData.tar.gz contains all the raw transcription data associated with both challenge 1 and challenge 2, with the exception of the training data for challenge 2. Processed versions of each file can be found in the respective challenge folders, which can be found here [https://www.synapse.org/#!Synapse:syn18634260] [https://www.synapse.org/#!Synapse:syn18633717] RawDataFilenames.csv contains the sample names of all of the RawData.tar.gz files. Each file in RawData.tar.gz corresponds to a plex on a microarray and are labeled by chip number, plex number and date. To convert this to our sample names (Isolate name, timepoint, perturbation and biorep), one can use the RawDataFilenames.csv Again, the use of the above three data sets are **completely optional**. Depending on how you may want to approach the problem you may or may not require these files. Thanks. Sincerely, Sage Davis
