Hi All,
Apologies for the delay but the Challenge is now LIVE http://synapse.org/encodeimpute !
One exciting development (that took us some time to finalize) is that the challenge now has cash awards for the top 3 winning teams! Thanks to Life Epigenetics (https://lifeegx.com/), an epigenetics based testing company, for sponsoring the cash awards to top-performing teams.
First Place: $5,000 .... Second Place: $3,000 .... Third Place: $2,000
Also, the first 50 challenge participants are eligible to receive $100 in AWS cloud credits, courtesy of Amazon Web Services. We will provide access codes to the first 50 participants soon.
Please read the challenge wiki carefully and make sure you are able to access the datasets. Let us know if you have any trouble with the data or have any questions through the Discussion Board.
Also please note that we will be adding a few updates over the next 2 weeks.
- We will be releasing scoring scripts for you to be able to score your imputations against the provided validation datasets
- We will be releasing precise instructions on how to submit predictions (you will only be required to do this towards the end of the first competitive round)
- We will be also adding the datasets that are on Synapse in an Amazon bucket for easy use with AWS compute
Finally, we will also be having a webinar on Monday March 4th, 2019. We will go through the challenge details, data and also provide a brief tutorial on using Amazon AWS for the challenge. The webinar will also allow you all to ask any questions you might have.
Please use the Discussion Forum on the wiki for all questions, comments, communication (unless there are any privacy issues in which case you can email the organizers privately). Please be respectful and civil in all communication.
We will certainly try our best to respond to your questions/concerns and fix any issues with a fast turn around time. But please note time zone differences. We appreciate your patience in the unlikely event that we have some delays in responding.
Thanks,
