I was browsing the [guided data tour for our Hackathon](https://github.com/Sage-Bionetworks/nf-hackathon-2019) . The scope of the hackathon is noted as NF1, NF2, and Schwannomatosis.
The difference between NF2 and Schwannomatosis is described by [Lu-Emerson and Plotkin 2009](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19898272):
NF2:
* bilateral vestibular schwannomas
* meningiomas
* ependymomas
* cataracts
* epiretinal membranes
* blindness from bifacial weakness
Schwannomatosis:
* multiple nonvestibular
* nonintradermal schwannomas
* chronic pain.
* germline alterations in the SMARCB1/INI1 gene
