Global Internal Standard (GIS) samples are an equal weight (physical average) mixture of all protein samples in the dataset. They are used for batch correction, though there are multiple ways to use them in this regard, e.g. TAMPOR, ComBat, or ratio of other sample values / GIS on a per-protein or per-peptide basis. Eric
