title: 1/3-Schizophrenia Genetics and Brain Somatic Mosaicism abstract: Multiple lines of evidence suggest a strong genetic component to SCZD. But, genetic variants account for only a small percentage of disease incidence suggesting that risk alleles my not be inherited through the germline, but arise through somatic mutations within neurons of affected individuals combined with a propensity for somatic mosaicism to be inherited in patients with SCZD. In this collaborative UO1 we use a variety of approaches to study somatic mosaicism in SCZD. grantNumber: U01MH106893 institution: Lieber Institute for Brain Development institutions: Lieber Institute for Brain Development projectTitle: 1/3-Schizophrenia Genetics and Brain Somatic Mosaicism ndaCollection: [2967](https://nda.nih.gov/edit_collection.html?id=2967) primaryInvestigator: Daniel Weinberger primaryInvestigators: Daniel Weinberger
