title: 1/3-Schizophrenia Genetics and Brain Somatic Mosaicism
abstract: Multiple lines of evidence suggest a strong genetic component to SCZD. But, genetic variants account for only a small percentage of disease incidence suggesting that risk alleles my not be inherited through the germline, but arise through somatic mutations within neurons of affected individuals combined with a propensity for somatic mosaicism to be inherited in patients with SCZD. In this collaborative UO1 we use a variety of approaches to study somatic mosaicism in SCZD.
