For the category 2, I wonder if we can use the Porcine data without label information.

That's a very good point - however, we are not allowing participants to use ANY surgical data with or without labels for potential pre-training steps in either of the categories. This includes the porcine data that we have released or other publicly available surgical datasets like JIGSAWS, Cholec80, etc.
