summary: Quantify gene set enrichment using likelihood ratio‐derived test statistics (gsLRT), which accounts for sample covariates like age and sex. The approach generates likelihood ratio statistics from a pair of nested logistic regression models. The procedure is flexible enough to test for a wide number of complicated gene set hypotheses while adjusting for variation explained by the covariates included in both models.
