unable to write the docker file in docker desktop

My docker desktop showing Docker Desktop starting... for a long time but failed to create a new image. Is there and other way to write a docker file? My model is built in python. Thank you so much for the help!

@bhchen I will suggest you to restart your machine and then give it a try again. Also found some resources on, how to run Docker without Docker Desktop: https://dhwaneetbhatt.com/blog/run-docker-without-docker-desktop-on-macos I did not run and test it on my end so you may have to play with it.
