What is missing?

Yes, you are right. (It's an issue of permissions, there is a tabular display of submissions but to see it you need administrative access to a bit of information that's not available to participants, so it doesn't work.) My apologies.

Actually, I think I did click on the submit to challenge - but, just to be sure, I've done that again. I might have done it to the containers, rather than the shared file. Anyway, it's worth trying to see if something different happens. Let's see if I got it right: you pushed both containers (preprocess+train) to synapse.org, you uploaded (and shared with dmchalengeit) the text file that contains the checksum for both containers.
Did you "Submit to challenge" this text file? That's the final step. After this your job should appear here (https://www.synapse.org/#!Synapse:syn4224222/wiki/406828) as either pending or running.
PS- I'm not with the organization of the challenge, just trying to give a hand.
