Hi,
I would like to know how the Max-Symptom-Score is being computed. If it is a sum of all the 8 symptom scores why is labeled Max ? Will these symptom scores be provided in the test data?
Regards,
Medhini.
Created by Medhini medhini Granular Symptom data is provided in syn6043450, and is described on the Data Description page. Is that what you're asking? May I know where the information regarding Symptom score was provided ? The Symptom Scores will not be provided in the test data, since they can be used to compute two of the outcomes of interest. The algorithm for Symptom Score is as follows:
Symptom call
Symptoms used (8): runny nose, cough, headache, malaise, myalgia, sneeze, sore throat and stuffy nose
Algorithm:
- Missing values set to 0 (not recorded)
- Compute maximum symptom score per symptom per day, day 0 does not include the baseline
- Compute sum across symptoms of maximum symptoms by day (do not include pre-baseline day)
- Compute 5-day window summary (sum of sum of maximums per day)
- The symptom score is the maximum of all 5-day window summaries
A subject is symptomatic if the symptom score is 6 or higher
