H, There:
In data_clinical_sample.txt, the CANCER_TYPE of lung has three types:
[1] "Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer" "Small Cell Lung Cancer"
[3] "Lung Cancer, NOS"
What is the last one: "Lung Cancer, NOS"? what does "NOS" mean here?
Thx
Ming
Created by yiming1967 Hi, Tom:
Thanks a lot for the info, Even with that, I am still trying understanding what is the difference here especially the 3rd one compared to the 1 and 2. Does it mean it is not clear whether it is "Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer or "Small Cell Lung Cancer", but at least it is lung cancer. Is my understanding correct?
[1] "Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer" "Small Cell Lung Cancer"
[3] "Lung Cancer, NOS"
Thanks and best
Ming Hi @yiming1967,
The NOS stands for "not otherwise specified"
Best,
Tom
